Notes from Executive Director: Celebration Luncheon 2015!

Our 27th celebration luncheon was about three weeks ago and we are still glowing from the event.  Each year the staff and I feel renewed and inspired by the afternoon. We were inspired by the girls, Latoyia, Fran, Tom and you- our supporters.

I was so proud of our Girl Heroes for their many accomplishments and I am sure most of you will agree it is not easy to speak before 580 people! Our Mistress of Ceremonies, Latoyia Edwards, engaged, inspired and motivated us. Her commitment to the girls is contagious! The Girl’s Inc. chorus had us clapping and singing. Our alumna Fran Dichner’s remarks were dynamic and reminded us of how the Girls Inc. Experience stays with you into adulthood. It was such an honor for us to pay tribute to our 2015 Strong, Smart and Bold Honoree, Thomas Demakes, who gave a witty and heartening speech which captured the entire audience.

And our supporters, thank you for being in her corner! And making this one of our most memorable luncheons.
