The School Age After School Program provides girls, ages 5 to 12, (grades K-6,) with academic support, literacy focused programming and hands-on enrichment activities. Our program offers homework help to give girls the opportunity to practice their academic skills. Literacy is a cornerstone of our programming and is incorporated through all of the School-Age activities. The daily curriculum allows girls the opportunity to explore areas of enrichment, including: nature, computer skills, dance, sports fitness, cooking and Science, Technology and Math.
Girls enjoy an environment that takes girls seriously and provides a chance for them to make new friends, learn new skills, ask questions and explore. There are also special events and opportunities throughout the year for members and families to enjoy and celebration together. Some of these include: the annual Halloween Haunted House Party, Thanksgiving Friends and Family Feast, Mother Daughter Workshops, and Winter Holidays Celebration.
The program is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care (EEC), and the Department of Children & Family Services (DCF) to provide quality care for a capacity of 169 girls at our building, the Demakes Center, at 50 High Street. The weekly cost for private pay tuitions is $93.25 on regular school weeks and $173.70 on holidays/vacation weeks. We accept vouchers, but have a limited number of contracted slots subsidized by EEC. Program hours are 1:45pm – 5:30pm Monday – Friday. During school vacation weeks hours are 7:30am – 5:30pm.
