Deb Ansourlian—Executive Director, Girls Inc. of Boston and Lynn

I want to say how thankful I am for all the support from the community, the Girls Inc. Board of Directors, and our donors and volunteers who stood beside us as our staff reliably provided the Girls Inc. Experience to our girls both virtually and in person.  We could not have done this essential work without you.

Spring and summer coalesce into a vibrant stretch here at Girls Inc. The Celebration Luncheon in April kicks off a busy springtime, followed by sending off our Strong, Smart, and Bold seniors to college at the College Shower, end-of-year school celebrations, and the anticipation of summer. What really makes my heart sing is seeing our Middle School and Teen program teams returning to 50 High Street to welcome back our older girls for in-person programs this summer. We know the girls we serve need summer learning experiences. School Age Child Care will be fully in person as they have been. Our middle school Eureka! program will be offering its full-day, six-week summer STEM program. The Girls Inc. Teen Group will participate in virtual internships, leadership development with some fun cooking, gardening, and art projects mixed in.  With the help of the Northeastern Marine Science Center, we will offer a remote coding program that trains our girls for the workforce.

This is also an exciting time for Girls Inc. as the Board of Directors is undertaking a strategic planning process as we think building upon the 2017 Strong, Smart, and Bold Strategic Plan, that outlined our vision of expansion into Boston. We look to investing in our future growth in Boston and Lynn, strengthening programs and helping more girls become Girls Inc. girls.

Feedback from the Girls Inc community is critical to this process, and that is why we’re asking for your assistance.   You will be receiving a survey in July that I hope you will complete.  Your voice is welcome and needed as we continue to inspire all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold.

With gratitude,

Deb Ansourlian,
Executive Director
