Each year Girls Inc. of Lynn hosts the Teen Leadership Academy to help young women explore what it means to be a leader with coaches who practice professional skills. The young women also learn from a roster of inspirational speakers. This year’s Teen Leadership Academy was on Monday evenings from February 4th-May 13th. The 13-week sessions focused on a variety of topics including Team Building, Leadership Styles, Effective Communication, SMART Goal Setting, Balancing Your Plate, Conflict Resolution, Confidence, Personal Branding 101, Women Leaders, Dress to Impress and Public Speaking.
Sessions included whole group work, small group work, games, projects, activities, and discussions. “Teen Leadership Academy helps empower young women with leadership and life skills. What a gift it is to have the girls learn from community leaders who share their time and expertise,” notes Deb Ansourlian, Girls Inc. of Lynn Executive Director.
