Family Night Celebrates Women Leaders in Science

SHARE

What better way to celebrate Family Engagement than by hosting a fun Family Night that honors women in science? Earlier this spring, over 150 school-age girls learned about famous women scientists like NASA stars Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson, and Dorothy Vaughan, featured in the book and film, Hidden Figures, chemist Alice Bell, and former U.S. Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders, M.D.
The girls were joined by members of Northeastern University’s Marine Science Center and Boston’s Museum of Science for the fun-filled evening which included food and prizes. The girls went home with a book about their favorite woman scientist.
